Philile Cosmo City

Philile has the opportunity to develop a flagship pre-school in the heart of Cosmo City's Extension 6 that will accommodate over 100 children. We envisage offering other opportunities to empower, educate and build the community from homework clubs to adult education to ensure that the facility is used to its max. As we continue to wait for the Cosmo land transfer to come through we are excited for the up and coming plans that 2012 holds. Building sketches are almost finalised and strong partnerships within the community are being built.

Recently a team of Philile volunteers in collaboration with Green Beings, Oasis, Ext 6 community members, GodFirst Tanz and I Luv JHB set out to plant trees on the park adjacent to the Cosmo City Philile property. A total of 20 indigenous trees were planted on the property and young community members had the opportunity to plant some seeds which they got to take home. This initiative was an exciting way to involve the community and prepare the land for future developments.
